Founded in 2021, Bridgepoint Music was created to bring high-quality musical experiences to the people of Rye, East Sussex and beyond.
The charity comprises three spheres of operation: The Bridgepoint Ensemble, a high-quality professional chamber group; Bridgepoint String Orchestras which operate at Rye Music Centre on Saturday mornings, giving young string players the chance to play string repertoire under the tutelage of a former member of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields; and Bridgepoint in Mind, a project that aims to take music into care homes, with live performances for people that can’t always get into a concert hall.
Musicians
The players that have played for the Bridgepoint Ensemble are among the very best musicians in the country- all of them established and feted performers. We have no fixed membership but a pool of wonderful artists that come together according to the repertoire, or whether their diaries will allow a few days of escape to the coast.
Other musical collaborators that we have worked with include Colin Currie and Stephen Barlow.
Bridgepoint Music is a registered charity. We rely on income from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and ticket sales. The support that we receive allows us to maintain the three branches of our work and enables us to live by our motto of Bringing Music to Life.
